Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President Finance, the Finance Manager is responsible for key financial planning, reporting and management processes. The ideal candidate should be professional and highly motivated, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Finance Manager will play an important role in developing a high-functioning, effective and efficient Finance group with scalable capabilities and processes to support current operations and planned growth. Responsibilities include:

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Preparation and analysis of quarterly enterprise-wide financial projections
• Maintaining a dynamic summary of project proformas for reporting to the Chairman and CEO
• Monitoring upcoming sources and uses of capital to ensure the company can execute its business plan
• Assisting our Land and Development teams with the preparation and updating of project proformas
• Preparing ad-hoc financial projections and analyses

Financial Reporting

• Working with the Director, Real Estate Finance and Senior Vice President Finance to fulfill corporate and project-level information requests
• Collaborating with the Controller to enhance financial reporting under our newly-implemented cloud-based ERP
• Utilizing an in-depth understanding of the business and accounting to assist the Controller with identifying and resolving significant accounting and audit issues
• Reviewing current processes and identifying opportunities for change
• Developing/enhancing, implementing and monitoring of financial controls

Financial Management

• Managing our Insurance team and ensuring appropriate corporate and project insurance is maintained
• Collaborating with our Tax and Legal teams to establish optimal corporate structures for our upcoming developments
• Approving financial transactions for payment or issuance of Letters of Credit
• Monitoring of the regulatory environment to identify key risks and ensuring compliance
• Day-to-day mentorship of Finance and Accounting staff
• Assisting the Senior Vice President Finance on special projects

Qualifications and Attributes

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, specializing in Finance or Accounting
• A CPA designation preferred
• Minimum of 4+ years progressive work experience in Finance or Accounting roles
• Proficiency in Canadian private company GAAP (ASPE)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 with intermediate to advanced skill in Excel
• Exceptional work ethic
• An ability to demonstrate effective organizational skills in order to meet timelines
• A detail-oriented approach to carrying out responsibilities
• A commitment to working in a cooperative, team-focused manner

Salary range: $100,000 to $130,000 (plus bonus and benefits).

The compensation range may vary based on the candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications.
